- A single GovernSpot account is designed to support multiple groups.
- A group can be internally and/or externally focused and can by accessed by authorized users who are internal or external to an organization.
- Only users who have been added to a group as a member can see the group and access a group's related information.
Main Information Objects:
An account is comprised of one or more groups and a group is comprised of several information objects including members, meetings, topics, and announcements.

Account
An account is defined as a single organization with a single subdomain on governspot.net.
Group
A group is a collection of members or a team focused on a specific scope of activity. Examples of groups include executive steering committee or board of directors, an IT change control board, an industry working group, church committee, or sports league.
Member
A member is a GovernSpot user assigned to a specific group. A user may be assigned to more than one group. Members may have different group roles and may optionally possess voting rights. More information about members may be accessed here.
Meeting
A meeting is a scheduled event to which members are invited which may optionally have an agenda, minutes, and action items. More information about meetings may be accessed here.
Topic
A group topic is a subject contemplated or optionally voted on by members. Examples of potential topics include voting on an update to an operating agreement, the adoption of a policy, development of an industry standard, or changes to a rule. More information about topics may be accessed here.
Announcement
An announcement is a mechanism for broadcasting information to group members. Announcements include a title, summary, and an optional link for more information. When created, announcements are sent to member via email and are also viewable from the group page.
